This volume completes my economic commentary on Exodus.
Appendix I, “Pollution in the Soviet Union.” The USSR suffered from pollution in many areas. The state-owned enterprises received bonuses for exceeding their quotas. It was cheaper to pollute than to pay for pollution-reducing equipment or resources. They counted resources as free: clean water, clean air, and clean sand.
Appendix J, “Lots of Free Time.” There are crackpots who think there can be a zero-interest-rate economy. They are the equivalent of promoters of perpetual motion. Here, I take apart one of them.
Appendix M, “Slavery in the American South.” This will not be appreciated by the Sons of the Confederacy.
Appendix L, “Maimonides’ Code: Is It Biblical?” Moses Maimonides was a 12th-century physician, philosopher, and rabbi. He wrote a 14-volume treatise on Jewish law. Four of these dealt with economics. I examine them in detail. (Note to Jews: I am closer to Samson R. Hirsch’s views than to Maimonides’ views.)
Appendix M, “Victim’s Rights vs. the Messianic State.” Here, I argue for closing all of our prisons and restoring double restitution to crime victims by convicted criminals.
Appendix N, “Covenantal Law and Covenantal Love.” They go together.
Appendix O, “Social Antinomianism.” I refute a Dooyeweerdian critic of biblical law as a tool of social reform. You have never heard of him. You probably have never heard of Herman Dooyeweerd, either. You have not missed much.
Appendix P, “The Hoax of Higher Criticism.” The critics of the Old Testament use circular reasoning, yet do not seem to recognize that they do. I help to show them.
Appendix Q, “The Restoration of Biblical Casuistry.” My call for the application of biblical law to specific legal cases.
Appendix R, “What Is Covenant Law?” It has five points.
Appendix S, “What Are the Case Laws?” This summarizes Exodus 21-23.
